NCTC:
'Good Coaching makes a Difference'
The National Coacing and Training Centre (NCTC) is introducing a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

The objective of the programme is to provide continuous professional development opportunities to coaches, teachers, parents, sports scientists and medical personnel, thereby ensuring they are equipped on an ongoing basis with the relevant knowledge and skills to perform their vital role
in Irish sport.

Assimilation:
According to the explanatory document issued by the National Coaching and Training Centre (NCTC) The assimilation scheme is:

“A scheme where experienced coaches and experienced players/athletes may be accredited to Level 2 or higher within the National Coaching Development Programme (NCDP) based on objective assessment of their previous experience and qualifications”.

The scheme is being introduced to provide:

· experienced coaches with suitable qualifications and/or experience with a final opportunity to assimilate to the NCDP at Level 2 or higher
· experienced players and athletes with an avenue to gain credit on the coaching ladder."
