Irish Squash's pilot level 1 coaching course drew to a conclusion in Mount Pleasant Squash Club at the weekend completing the three day course which ran on March 6th and April 10th and 11th.
12 New Squash Coaches completed the Level 1 Pilot Course on Sunday last ( April 11th) Eddie Murphy and Frank Donnelly put the coaches through their paces over the three days under the watchful eye of Tadhg Lambe from Coaching Ireland. Feedback so far has been excellent and we look forward to putting some final touches to the course and rolling out mini squash on a natioanl basis to all provinces. Eddie Murphy is the Coaching Secretary for Irish Squash. Eddie's role is a voluntary one and he is a member of the Board of Irish Squash. Eddie looks after coaching matters including Coaching Courses. Eddie plays squash for Silversprings in Cork and also Coaches the U19 Boys Squad.

Irish Squash are currenlty working with Coaching Ireland to approve the a Level 1 Coaching Course. The course has been revamped with an exciting new syllabus in process of being prepared. The course will bring us in line with UKCC ( The British Coaching Standard) and will qualfiy coaches to coach in Ireland and the UK.
Currently we have two Part Time Development Officers who are covering Lenister and Connacht mainly working in schools and rolling out the mini squash programme.
