Irish Squash Fundraising Draw 2012

Irish Squash launched their 2012 Junior Development Fundraising Draw at the Nationals before Christmas. There are some excellent prizes on offer including Wimbledon Tickets, Brisish Open Squash Finals, Five Star Hotel Stay in Four Seasons plus more. Tickets are excellent value at just €5 / £5 each with a special internet rate only of 5 tickets for €20. All monies will go direct to junior development.

Connacht Senior Open Date Change - has been changed from Feb 24th - 26th to March 2nd 4th, 2012.

Arthur Gaskin Sports Star Awards - will be honored in his native Carlow at on event on February 17th. Full report in the Carlow Nationalist.

Gillen Markets Irish Nationals 2011

Congratulations to Madeline Perry and Arthur Gaskin who were crowed Irish Squash National Champions earlier today in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club. Perry had to come back from 1 love down to even up the game at 1-1. Aisling Blake pushed World Number 4 all the way and with the match all square at 2-2, Perry had to be at her best in the fifth to seal her 13th title.

Carlow's Arthur Gaskin won a very well earned first Nationals Title, defeating last years champion John Rooney. Gaskin got off to a blistering start and looked like a man on a mission taking the early lead. Rooney tied up at 1-1 but Gaskin pushed on and was not going home without the title, he closed out the match with a 3-1 victory.

Nationals Fundraising Auction

Irish Sqush also ran a fundraising auction with Alan Shortt doing a great job entertainig the crowd and securing some much needed funds for Junior Development. Thank you to all those who contributed.
