Irish Squash 2010 AGM

Irish Squash held their AGM on Sunday last, June 13th in Sport HQ. John O'Connor was ratified as President of Irish Squash with the following also elected to the board for the coming year. Treasurer - Rory Gillen -, Chairman -Michael J Hynes , Senior Convenor - Ed Dunne, Coaching Secretary - Eddie Murphy, Junior Administrator - Lee Healy, National Children's Officer - Gerry Connaughton, Tariq Zaki - Leinster Representative, Ulster Representative - Frank Marks, Munster Representative - Dermot McNamara, Referee Secretary - Brian Williams. Currently the Secretary , Tournament Secretary and Connacht Reprsentative are vacant posts.

Beatrice Byrne and Edwin Brennan stepped down from the Board after many years of service. Irish Squash would like to thank them again for their invaluable service during their tenure.

The Irish Squash Board for 2010 /2011 is as follows

President - John O Connor

John has been involved in squash for several years and is in his thrid year as President. John plays his squash in Total Fitness, Castleknock.

Chairperson- Michael Hynes

From Galway, Michael has been chair for the past two years and prior that was Connacht Rep. Michael is a member of Galway LTC.

Secretary- TBA


Treasurer - Rory Gillen

Rory joins the board this year and as a founder of ILTB (now investrcentre.com) past sponsors of the Irish Open, Rory brings top finanical expertise to the table and is a most welcome addition. Rory is a member with Westwood.

Junior Administrator- Lee Healy

Lee is a member of the Highfield club in Cork and is our Junior Administrator. Lee is also our go to person in all matters relating to the Irish Squash Constituion.

Coaching Secretary- Eddie Murphy

Eddie hails from the Silversprings club in Cork and has been coaching secretary for two years. Eddie is currenlty working to develop and integrate our coaching courses with Coaching Ireland and UKCC. Eddie is also head coach with the Irish Boys U19 squad.

National Childrens Officer - Gerry Connaughton

Gerry Connaughton hails from Thurles and looks after all areas of child protection and code of ethics in line with recommendations and guidelines for the Irish Sports Council.

Senior Convenor- Ed Dunne

Ed has been a member for three years and is a current member of Westwood. Ed also looks after the Irish Mens National Squads and the Development Squad

Leinster Representatives

Tariq Zaki joins us this year as the current president of Leinster Squash. We are delighted to welcome Tariq to the board for 2009/10.

Ulster Representatives

Frank Marks is the reps from Ulster. for the coming season.

Munster Representatives

Dermot MacNamara is our Munster Representative and is a memeber of Limerick LTC.

Connacht Representatives
