Irish Squash

The Irish Squash Board for 2011 /2012 is as follows:


President - Ed Dunne (pictured right)

This is Eds first term as President of Irish Squash. For many years Ed has been heavily involved in squash and has previously served on the Board of Irish Squash as Senior Convenor. Ed has also travelled to Senior European Tournaments as Manager of the Senior Mens Team and has gained huge experience in this role.


Chairperson- Gavin Doherty

Gavin is new to the Board this year but he has been playing squash for many years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge. He is a member in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club.


Secretary - Vacant

Treasurer - Rory Gillen

Rory is the founder of InvestRcentre.com and brings top finanical expertise to the table. Rory is a member with Fitzwilliam and Westwood.

Junior Secretary- Henry Gillanders

Henry is a member of Mount Pleasant L.T.C and is heavily involved with junior coaching at the club.

Coaching Secretary- Shane Broadberry

Shane is also new to the Board this year. He is a member of Westwood.

Masters Secretary - Frank Donnelly

Frank is a Professional Squash Coach with a Level 2 Coaching qualification. He has been Coach to the U17 Girls Nationals Team for the past number of years and has himself represented Ireland in the Masters Home Internationals.

Joe Ruddy - Refereeing Secretary

Joe is a WISPA/ PSA Tournament Referee and has refeered at European Team Championshils 207-2011, World Mens Championships 2009, Dutch Open, Canary Wharf in addiont to Leinster Opens and Irish Open. Joe also played on the Masters Team in 2009 for Ireland.


National Childrens Officer - Gerry Connaughton

Gerry Connaughton hails from Thurles and looks after all areas of child protection and code of ethics in line with recommendations and guidelines for the Irish Sports Council.

Tournament Secretary - Steven McMurray

Steven has been involved with Ulster Squash for many years, running league and cup tournaments. He was also a member of the Ulster Squash Board.

Senior Convenor- Roland Budd

Roland is President of Dublin University Squash Rackets Club (Trinity) for the past three years and has also servered as Tresurer of for the same club. In past he has also been a selector for Leinster Squash.

Leinster Representative

David Corbet joins us this year as representative of Leinster Squash. He has represented Ireland and Leinster at Junior Levels age groups and is the current secretary for Leinster Squash.

Ulster Representative

Munster Representative

Eddie Murphy is our Munster Representative and is a memeber of Silversprings in Cork. Eddie has been on the Board for many years in different roles. He is a Level 3 Coach and a qualified coaching tutor.

Connacht Representative

Edwin Brennan is the Connacht Representative this year having previously been on the Board of Irish Squash as Secretary. Edwin is the squash co ordinator for Galway Lawn Tennis Club, Regional Development Officer for Irish Squash and the current President of Connacht Squash.

Database Administrator

Dermot McNamara has moved from his role as Munster Rep to Database Administrator. Dermot is a member of Limerick Lawn Tennis Clubs and also Fitzwilliam LTC.

Past President

John O'Connor sits on the Board of Irish Squash as immediate Past President. John was President of Irish Squash from 2007 until his term ended in June 2011. Before becoming President John was also the Masters Administrator for many years. His experience on the Irish Squash Board is invaluable.
