2006 - 2007
Please note the following alteration to Irish Squash Bye-Laws
in relation to players who make late withdrawals and/or who fail
to complete competitions:
‘In the event that a player scratches from
a tournament after the draw is made then a two tournament ban is
imposed on the offending player (relevant to both senior and junior).
A one tournament ban and 0 points penalty will be imposed should
a player pull out during the tournament. Either of the above will
not be enforced in the event of a medical cert being submitted.’
This bye-law has effect from January 1, 2007

Information on the Irish Grand
Prix
Tour 2005-06
The Irish senior Tour incorporates 8 events. These
will be spread throughout Ireland as described in the Irish
Squash Calendar. Ranking points for Irish selection will be
available only from the Tour. Home-based Irish players will gain
points from their best six events. World standard and foreign-based
players will receive exemptions from certain events.
The prize money listed below is the minimum required
to take part in the Tour. Tournament Organisers may pay above this
figure if they so wish. The prize money is available for Irish players
ONLY.
National Ranking System and Grand Prix Tour
Positions:
Rankings:
Rankings are based on the performance over the previous 12 months.
The number of events that are taken into consideration are dependent
on player type as follows:
o Top 60 Professional – 35% of events played within the last
calendar year
o Professional & non-Irish resident player – 50% of events
played within the last calendar year
o Irish resident player – 65% of events played within the
last calendar year Multipliers applied to the points gained will
depend on how many tournaments are played within the calendar year
as follows
o The number of qualifying tournaments are calculated by working
out how many an Irish resident player can play e.g. 8 tournaments
within calendar year, therefore qualifying tournaments = 65% x 8
tournaments = 5 (rounded to nearest whole number, .5 rounds up)
o The maximum points achievable for an Irish resident player is
calculated, e.g. nationals + 4 remaining tournaments in above example
= 1000 + (4*750) = 4000 points
o For each player type the number of tournaments they have to play
is calculated by using the % e.g. Top 60 Professional = 35% x 8
tournaments = 3
o The maximum achievable for that player type is calculated e.g.
nationals + 2 remaining tournaments = 1000 + (2*750) = 2500 points
o The multiplier for that player type in this case will be 4000/2500
= 1.6
A Professional (outside PSA top 60) and/or a non – Irish Resident
will need to play 50% of the events. His multiplier will be 1000
+(3*750) =3250. The multiplier is 4000/3250 = 1.23
4000 is the maximum any one person can achieve on the ranking.

Grand Prix Points
The Grand prix is a straight race with no multipliers with the winner
determined at the end of the season. Therefore for the grand prix
the more events you play the better position you will achieve.
Positions will be updated on the 1st of each month
