This year's West of Ireland Open was a PSA event with, as always, Galway LTC hosting the tournament.

John Rooney [7] was a 3-1 winner against Scot Stuart Crawford [3] in the final at Galway LTC The scores was 11/5; 7/11; 11/8; 11/5 in 52 min. No doubt Rooney gained added satisfaction taking the title in his 'home' courts watched by a packed gallery Afterwards the victorious Rooney was presented in front of a highly appreciative audience with the memorial “Paddy Whack Walsh” trophy by Leyton Walsh, son of the late Paddy Walsh.

Brian Byrne beat Shaun Pearson in the final of the Men's A.

The organisers would like to thanks Garavan's Bar, Shop Street, Galway for their generous sponsorship that made the tournament possible.
