Irish Times – Women in Sport Awards

Aisling Blake won the monthly award for March 2013 after her superb victory over Madeline Perry in the Women’s National Championships in that month. This was her first National senior title. Squash has been represented very well with this award in that Madeline has won a monthly award in the Irish Times Sportswomen Awards from 2012 right to the inception of the awards in 2004. A fine achievement demonstrating her great success over that time.

Following Madeline Perry regaining her National title in December 2013 she won the December award for the Irish Times Sportswoman of the year award, once again.

On October 1st 2014 a Women’s Network Breakfast was held to discuss The Business of Women in Sports, led by RTE presenter Jacqui Hurley, and featuring All-Ireland camogie champion Mags D’Arcy. The event was sponsored by Liberty Insurance, sponsors of the All Ireland Camogie Championship.
There is a brief summary of the event, which can be found here
Jessica O’Sullivan also wrote an extensive piece on the event in October’s edition of Irish Tatler magazine, and the feature can be found here
