Irish Squash Development Officers

Irish Squash has two part time Development Officers in the provinces of Lenister and Connaght. Edwin Brennan is looking after mini squash and women in sport programmes in the Connaght Areas while Deirdre Faul is taking care of Lenister. Please contact the office for details or to arrange some development squash sessions.

Women in Sport

In association with the Irish Sports Council. Irish Squash takes part in a number of events that are run with the aim of encourage more female participation in our Sport.

A number of programmes underway are listed below with more to follow so watch this space

Mini Squash, Squash Taster Days, Squash Festival and "Lets Make a Racke"t which is a new programme being run in partnership with Badminton Ireland and Table Tennis Ireland.

Irish Times - Women in Sport Awards

John O Connor pictured right at recent Irish Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards in which Madeline Perry was once again in the line up for a monthly award. John was representing Irish Squash at the event to honour sportswomen who received awards during 2009.

Madeline Perry scooped the Award for October for her stunning success in the British Open in 2009 defeating World No 1 Nicol David on her way to the final. Indeed Madeline has also achieved another record in being the only Irish Sportswomen to have won an Irish Times Sportswomen Awards every year since the inception fo the Awards in 2004.

Also featured in the picture is Angus Kirland current CEO of Irish Hockey and former COO of Irish Squash.
