Two really super finals in the Senior National Championships at Fitzwilliam. Sophie O’Rourke defending her title beat Breanne Flynn 3-2. Sophie was 2-0 up but Breanne fought back to level it 2 all. Sophie covering every inch of the court won the 5th and her 2nd National Senior title.
In the men’s match, Arthur Gaskin and Brian Byrne were meeting in the final for the 4th time. As on the previous occasions it was a high energy match full of skill, commitment and endeavour. Arthur went 2-0 up but Brian fought back to win the 3rd. Arthur dug in and pulled away in the 5th to win his 7th national senior title. A superb achievement!!
