Cannon Kirk GillenMarkets Irish Squash Open 2024 – Player Preview – Breanne Flynn

Sutton LTC’s Breanne Flynn will hope to have plenty to say in this year’s Cannon Kirk GillenMarkets Irish Squash Open.

The multiple-time senior national champion has been in terrific form all season adding a Leinster Senior Open title and a Mount Pleasant Senior Open victory to her trophy cabinet to start 2024.

Flynn fought brilliantly in defence of her senior national title in February, reaching the final before succumbing to defeat to Hannah Craig after a titanic battle.

Across the pond, Breanne most recently was runner-up in the University of the West of England Bristol Open 2024 as she builds momentum heading into her hometown premiere billing next week.

Breanne is currently on international duty, alongside Craig and has opened the ESF European Team Championships – Div 3 in scintillating fashion, dispatching her opening 3 opponents with ease, in 21, 15 and 17 minutes respectively. She will play a pivotal role for the remainder of the competition as Ireland seek promotion.

Last year, Breanne suffered a first round defeat so will be hoping to bounce back this year as she takes on world no.92 Lowri Roberts of Wales.

You can watch Breanne take on her Welsh opponent live on Premier Sports 2 (Sky 419 & VM 417) from 5pm on Tuesday 23rd April
