While the Mixed Team consisted of Sara Sabry (Leinster), Lydia McQuillan (Ulster), Sean Murphy (Leinster), Danny Lynch (Connacht) and Tristan Snodgrass (Leinster)

There was some strong performances from the Irish contingent across the 4 days of the individual championships with some impressive squash and a few upsets on show. A full recap of the individual championship can be found here

In the Mixed Team Championships, Ireland got off to a dream start with a thrilling and hard-fought victory over a very strong German outfit. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got in the Pool stages for team Ireland. After defeat to Switzerland, a win over Hungary would have secured a quarter-final spot, however a valiant and spirited effort wasn’t enough as we succumbed to defeat.

This set up a tie with Poland in the 09-16th place play-offs, which ended in a 2-1 defeat after some terrific squash. Team Ireland then faced Italy in thriller with 2 of the 3 games going the distance. Once again, despite some fantastic squash, we were unable to get over the line and lost 2-1.

We secured 15th position on the final day with a 2-1 victory over Norway. A positive way to end a frustrating campaign, in which team Ireland will rue missed chances and wonder what could have been after a brilliant start.
