Jonah Bryant and Mohamad Zakaria are two of the most promising squash youngsters on the planet right now and they further proved their credentials as future world beaters with immense semi-final performances to set up a mouth-watering final!
Bryant knocked out fellow Englishman, Declan James who has been in red-hot form over the last few weeks, proving that despite still being a teenager, he has all the mental bottle and fortitude to succeed at the top. He dropped just one game as he won 3-1 against James.
2007 born Mohamad Zakaria also displayed a skillset that will likely see him climb the world rankings at light speed as he defeated #2 seed George Parker, in a 5 game thriller. Again, having dropped a crucial game, the 16 y/o was able to rely on his immense physical and mental capabilities to see off Parker in 74 mins.
The two prodigies will now face each other for silverware in what could be a pivotal moment in both of their careers.
On the women’s side, it was business as usual for our #1 and #2 seeds as Nada Abbas and Emily Whitlock booked their places in tomorrow’s final, comfortable seeing off Kiera Marshall and Asia Harris respectively, in straight games.
Both will fancy their chances in what should be a cracking affair.
The finals will get underway at half three tomorrow afternoon with the women’s final up first.
Both finals will be livestreamed here
